Location: Denver, CO
Compensation: $135,000-$158,750

As a Senior Tax Manager- Trust & Estate, you will manage high-net-worth client engagements, from tax planning through the review of a variety of tax returns, as well as coach and supervise other tax professionals. You will have the opportunity to serve as the primary client contact for a variety of engagements. You may also represent the firm through community involvement and events.

What We’re Looking For:
- 8+ years of tax and wealth planning expereince in public accounting/professional services firm specifically with high-net-worth clients.
- 5+ years of management/supervisory experience required.
- Prior experience managing a large client book of business.
- CPA license or JD/LLM in Taxation.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's in taxation preferred.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Tax Manager- Trust & Estate, you will manage high-net-worth client engagements, from tax planning through the review of a variety of tax returns, as well as coach and supervise other tax professionals. You will have the opportunity to serve as the primary client contact for a variety of engagements. You may also represent the firm through community involvement and events.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare or review a diverse variety of complex returns for our high-net-worth clients and their personal holdings, which includes personal, partnership, corporate, trust, estate, foundation, and gift tax returns, with related tax work papers.
- Consult with our estate/gift tax subject matter experts to develop income and estate/gift tax planning strategies for our clients.
- Maintain current in-depth knowledge of and be able to read and interpret estate planning documents such as trusts and wills and be able to recommend planning ideas to our clients.
- Review complex Federal estate and gift tax returns, complex trust income tax returns, and estate income tax returns.
- Lead the intake of new estates, assist the client with estate administration issues, help them gather needed information, oversee return preparation, tax calculations/payments, and assist attorneys with estate asset inventories, and numerous other requests.
- Ensures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all policies & standards.
- Identifies when research is needed; clearly and concisely frames issues to be researched; and clearly and concisely reports the analysis.
- Assists with developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, especially by decreasing clients current and future taxes.
- Applies the combination of tax knowledge and knowledge of business/industry to recommend solutions while maximizing client benefits, especially by decreasing client taxes, and also managing risk.
- Train and mentor managers/seniors/associates on specialization areas, research skills, and helps to appropriately frame tax issues for analysis.
- Schedules and manages the workload of associates and senior associates.
- Consistently make suggestions as to how work products, approaches, and/or processes can be improved.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
